The escalation of violence in Gaza and Israel is leaving people in Gaza in urgent need of humanitarian support. Please donate now.

Overview

On 15 March 2014, it will be three years since the conflict in Syria began. 9.3 million Syrian citizens now require humanitarian support – that’s almost half the total population. More than 2.25 million Syrians have fled to neighbouring countries as refugees and more than 100,000 have died as a result of the conflict.

This resource for 11-16 year olds outlines how young people in the UK can take action to make sure that Syria’s children, who make up half of refugees, are Seen and Heard. The project involves peer teaching, organising a postcard petition and meeting their MP.

This campaign has now ended and owing to the publication date of this resource, some of the content (including statistics and links) may need updating. Find out about other ways in which you can take action through Oxfam’s Schools Speak Out Programme.
