Marta leads Oxfam's GB MEL team in the Programme Strategy and Impact Team. With a specific focus on influencing in programmes, she works with others to shape Oxfam's thinking on measuring influencing work across different thematic areas and types of programming. She co-chairs the cross-confederation MEL of Influencing working group. With a global remit, she provides specialist MEL advice for the design, monitoring and evaluation of strategies, programme and projects. She contributes to internal capacity building initiatives ranging from designing and delivering professional
development workshops to individual mentoring programmes. She is currently working on a framework to improve the measurement of indirect beneficiaries.
Previously Marta worked for Save the Children in strengthening MEL systems prior to, during and after the transition to One Save the Children. In this capacity, she chaired the global MEAL Advisory Group that developed Save the Children's global monitoring and evaluation system. Prior to that, Marta set up the M&E Unit in Save the Children Spain and worked as an independent evaluator in South East Asia. She also worked for the World Health Organisation in Vietnam in the field of Gender and Human Rights. With a background in Law and Political Sciences, she holds a
Master's Degree in Evaluation of Public Policies and Programmes from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Postgraduate Degree in Family and School Mediation from the Pontificia University of Comillas.
