Louise first started working in WASH when she was given an assignment with the Ministry of Infrastructure in Rwanda in 2009. Prior to that, her focus had been on renewable energy. Louise has a PhD from the Water, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC, Loughborough University) focusing on domestic sanitation in Sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining Oxfam, she worked for the Government of Rwanda, as an independent consultant and as a post-doctoral researcher.
Joining the Water team in Oxfam in October 2016, Louise focuses on the themes of resilience, adaptability, risk and vulnerability. Our aim is to reduce inequalities and improve access to dignified, safe and appropriate water and sanitation services, especially for marginalised groups.
