Hur Hassnain is Global Adviser Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning - Conflict and Fragility at Oxfam GB. He works with others to shape Oxfam's thinking on effective and conflict sensitive monitoring and evaluations in highly insecure environment Oxfam works in. Hur provides specialist MEL advice for the design, monitoring and evaluation of strategies, programmes and projects in conflict-affected contexts.

Hur previously worked for War Child UK as MEAL Adviser for over five years. In this capacity, he set up the MEAL unit and led on War Child's Impact Reporting. In his professional career Hur has successfully designed, commissioned and conducted research and evaluations in insecure environments for the UN agencies, European Commission, private sector and governments of Canada, Norway, Switzerland and the UK. He is a champion in participatory MEAL approaches and has developed innovative tools that have been presented internationally.

Hur is an elected Board Member at the International Development Evaluation Association (IDEAS), one of the largest global development evaluation associations. At IDEAS, Hur represents the Asia Pacific region. Hur's collection of Urdu poetry was published in Pakistan in 2006.

He holds dual Master's Degrees in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Sindh, Pakistan and Development Studies (MDS) from COMSATS Abbottabad, Pakistan.
