Colette is currently a Deputy Humanitarian Director for Oxfam's Global Humanitarian Team. Prior to that she was Country Director for Oxfam GB's programmes in Yemen. She has previously worked with a number of large, international agencies. Prior to joining Oxfam, she worked as the regional manager for Asia and the Middle East with CAFOD.
Colette has previously worked as a humanitarian programme officer, focusing on food security and livelihoods. Her roles have taken her to Asia, the Middle East and Africa, particularly Southern Africa, with a range of organisations including Save the Children, and IDASA South Africa, a local human rights organisation.
She was previously a teacher and head of Modern Languages at a comprehensive school, and then trained teachers in Bophuthatswana in South Africa during the transition period, before joining the development sector.
Colette holds a BA Hons in French from the University of Liverpool and a MA in Area Studies (Africa) from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London.
