Thomas Dunmore Rodriguez

National Influencing Adviser

Office Location: Mexico City, Mexico

Thomas is a dual Mexican and British national, born in Yorkshire but now living in Mexico City. His current role is National Influencing Adviser for Latin America. Between 2012 and 2015 he worked as the Deputy Manager for a programme supporting civil society from the global South to engage in advocacy within G20 and BRICS processes. Research from this work can be found on the Civil Society Networks research repository.

Prior to joining Oxfam, Thomas was based in the UK, where he worked as the Latin America and the Caribbean Senior Programme Officer for the International HIV/AIDS Alliance. He also worked for several years at Christian Aid, as Programme Manager for Brazil and before that as Programme Officer for Bolivia, Peru and Brazil.

Thomas has considerable experience of supporting the work of social movements with a human rights and social justice agenda. He believes that the work of organizations such as Oxfam should continue to prioritise support for such movements, as a key way to bring the voices of most marginalized groups to the centre of development debates.
