Rachel Sider is Oxfam's Iraq policy lead based in Erbil. She manages policy and advocacy initiatives and advises on country strategy, focusing on governance, emerging humanitarian needs, social cohesion and conflict-sensitive programming. She coordinates joint advocacy initiatives in Iraq through NCCI's Advocacy Working Group. Rachel has over five years of experience working with children, families and communities affected by conflict in the Middle East.
Prior to joining Oxfam, Rachel worked for Mercy Corps, where she supported U.S. based advocacy on the MENA region in the areas of humanitarian assistance, good governance, civil society space and conflict management. She is an Arabic speaker and founder of a community arts programme in Jordan that promotes social cohesion in refugee hosting communities.
