Danielle Smith

Policy Officer - Labour Rights


Office Location: Oxford, UK

Danielle has worked in Oxfam GB's Private Sector Team since 2014. Her role contributes to Oxfam's policy analysis on labour rights in global supply chains and advocacy towards the private sector.

Danielle has been involved in both Oxfam's Behind the Barcodes and Behind the Brands campaigns. In particular, her work has focused on the Behind the Barcodes scorecard which analyses retailers' performance in managing human rights across their food supply chains.

She authored the paper, Walking the Talk, which analysed progress two years after the launch of the Behind the Brands scorecard. Danielle has also engaged in advocacy on living wages through the Malawi Tea 2020 partnership.

Before joining Oxfam, Danielle worked for Maplecroft, where she provided advisory services in the areas of responsible sourcing, and environmental and social risk management proficiency.

Danielle has an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College and a BSc in Geography from the University of Nottingham.
