Aliaa is advocacy and media officer for the AMAL programme in Yemen, the occupied Palestinian territories, Tunisia and Morocco. She joined Oxfam's gender team in Lebanon in 2012, as project officer for the social protection of widows' programme in Iraq, where she conducted training for partners to build their advocacy strategy and skills.
Prior to joining Oxfam, Aliaa worked with CRTDA on campaigning for citizenship and nationality right in Lebanon. Her role involved mobilization, networking and capacity development of local NGOs and groups.
Aliaa is also the founder and producer of a radio programme about women's rights and issues in Lebanon and the Arab world, and a founding member of a non -profit youth association that aims to ensure and advocate women's rights in Lebanon and the Arab World through media and social media.
She holds a Masters degree in journalism and has experience in journalism and media, women's rights and gender issues in Lebanon, and training on advocacy especially social media and campaigning tools.
