Gabriel has extensive experience working on rural development issues with a special focus on sustainable livelihoods and food security. For the last six years, he has been supporting the programme and research activities of Oxfam Intermón (Spain) in 10 countries in Latin America and Africa as global livelihoods adviser.
Formally trained as a veterinary practitioner in Zaragoza (Spain), Gabriel supported the design and implementation of several rural development projects in Central and South America for nine years. His main field of expertise is sustainable agriculture with a special focus on cereal banks; an area he has studied for the last 15 years, as well as issues linked to commercialization and trade.
He is currently collaborating with Oxfam's GROW campaign on the issue of food reserves as well as working on SCALE.
