Smallholder farmers in Zimbabwe have always had to contend with swings of climate, but with the right kind of support they can achieve remarkable increases in production. Climate change is increasing both drought and heavy rainfall. This case study of an irrigation project shows how adaptation efforts can be very successful, but also that more extreme weather patterns pose threats of a new order of magnitude.
