Nellie is the country director for Oxfam GB's programmes in Zambia, and has worked in Zambia since 2010. She joined Oxfam in 1999, working in Malawi initially as programme coordinator, then later as country director. She then worked in South Africa as the regional programme manager, before moving to her current post in Zamia.
From 1987 to 1993, Nellie worked with the Development of Malawian Traders Trust, providing business advisory services to small and medium enterprises. She then worked as the finance advisor for World Vision International for five years, before joining Oxfam.
Nellie holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and an MSc in Strategic Management. She has been involved with a number of organisations, including as a board member of Women's World Banking in the early 1990s, a board member for DEMAT in the early 2000s, member and vice chairman of the NGO Board in Malawi, and a member of the Management Committee of the Commonwealth Education Fund in Malawi.
