Margarita is the country director for Oxfam GB's work in Armenia. She first started working for Oxfam in 1994 as a programme officer, and has worked in a variety of roles, such as health programme officer and health programme manager, before taking up her current position.
Prior to working for Oxfam, she worked at the Scientific Research Institute as a technical translator, before moving to the Clinic for Children, a charitable, Diaspora-supported NGO.
Margarita's educational background in is humanities. She graduated from the Yerevan University of Foreign Languages, specialising in Armenian, Russian and English. She has also trained in technical translation, as well as a medical nurse in emergencies.
