Louie Fooks

Global Learning and Communications Officer, Conflict and Fragility

Louie is a global learning and communications officer, focusing on conflict and fragility. In particular, she is working on Within and Without the State: Governance and Citizenship in Fragile States, Oxfam GB's three year global programme focusing on civil society in fragile and conflict-affected countries. She supports the learning of individual country teams, and captures and disseminates learning from the global programme.

Louie has worked in a variety of communications and policy roles within Oxfam. Most recently, she worked as the policy and research manager within the UK Poverty Programme, where she was particularly concerned with building an evidence base for UK Poverty, and developed a programme of research and policy papers for advocacy and campaigning purposes.

Prior to this, she worked as the publications editor for the Oxfam GB in-house team, and a publishing adviser for Oxfam GB's development education programme. She has also previously worked for Friends of the Earth Scotland, Save the Children, and Action Health.

Louie holds a MA in Latin American Studies.
