Liz provides day-to-day guidance to country programmes on engagement with the private sector in programming. She is currently working on developing thinking on the role that the private sector can play in promoting food security and is developing briefings for the business community on delivering gender equality in their business operations and value chains.

Liz has worked for most of the past decade on the private sector's role in international development, having spent five years as Head of Projects at the Ethical Trading Initiative, and two years as Private Sector Advisor for South Asia at CARE International UK. She combines this with expertise on gender, acquired while working with civil society organisations working on gender equity and labour rights in South Asia. She holds a masters degree in Governance and Development from IDS, University of Sussex.
