David leads strategically within Oxfam GB on rural and urban market and enterprise development, to reduce poverty particularly for women. As part of the Private Sector Management Team, he leads on new engagements with global businesses related to agriculture.
David has developed Oxfam GB's market systems methodology to agricultural value chain development, which focuses on smallholder inclusion in supply chains, and the development of sustainable rural and women's enterprises in poverty affected regions. He has also written various publications, recently co-authoring Think Big. Go Small, part of the Briefing for Businesses series on developing smallholder based supply chains.
Among other things, he is a member of the Sustainable Food Lab Advisory Board, the Unilever Sustainable Sourcing Advisory Board and a non-executive director of a social enterprise. His previous career was as a Business developer for twelve years, working for French and British companies, having been an undergraduate in Business management and postgraduate in Environmental Management.
