Catherine Pettengell

Global Adviser, Climate Change Adaptation

Catherine joined Oxfam in 2008, leading Oxfam's climate change policy research in the run up to the fifteenth Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Copenhagen 2009 (UNFCCC COP 15). 

Since then her work has focused on the programmatic approach to climate change adaptation, developing Oxfam's approach to climate change adaptation and providing technical support Oxfam's country programmes.

Catherine studied in London, gaining a BSc Anthropology at the University of Surrey, and later an MSc in Globalisation and Development at the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University of London.

Prior to Oxfam, Catherine was at FIELD (Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development), and in the Climate Change Group at IIED (International Institute for Environment and Development).
