Amanda is responsible for the management of "Within and Without the State: Governance and Citizenship in Fragile Settings", Oxfam GB's three-year global programme of work on civil society in fragile and conflict-affected countries. She drives implementation of Oxfam's programme strategy on working in fragile contexts, directly supports country programmes on their policy and programme approaches, and facilitates cross-programme exchange of information, experiences and tools.
Amanda holds a masters degree in Post-War Recovery from the University of York's Post-War Reconstruction and Development Unit (PRDU) and has direct experience of working with communities and civil society organisations in a range of conflict-affected countries, including the Democratic Republic of Congo, Sierra Leone and Sri Lanka.
Prior to joining Oxfam, Amanda spent two and half years as part of the UK Department for International Development (DFID) Civil Society Department and has previous experience with a number of international non-governmental organisations including the British Red Cross and the Mines Advisory Group (MAG).
