Pongsagorn Satjipanon is a a Regional Private Sector Specialist in Oxfam's Asia Regional Centre in Bangkok, Thailand. Pongsagorn or 'Art' is part of the Regional Economic Empowerment team. He supports Oxfam's private sector related initiatives throughout Asia by influencing the terms of debate on the role of the private sector in poverty reduction; influencing policies, practices and business operations in three key sectors (finance, agriculture and climate change related sector); encouraging businesses to deliver social and ethical value for poor people and their
communities towards sustainable change; and facilitating the development of an equitable and inclusive value chain in the private sector that empowers smallholder agricultural producers, especially women. Art also manages Oxfam's strategic partnership with CSR Asia and the ASEAN CSR Network, and manages the OI Pan-Asia 'Private Sector Coordination Group' (PSCG).
Prior to joining Oxfam, Art worked in one of Thailand's largest multinational companies in the agri-business sector. Art was responsible for international sales, marketing and foreign investment in the rice business. He has a wealth of international experience in the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Africa and South-East Asia. Art has also implemented several Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities in Thailand and abroad.
Art graduated with a master's degree in Commerce and Administration with specialisation in International Business and Asian Study from New Zealand.
