Tim Forster

Tim is one of Oxfam's humanitarian support personnel, with over 20 years practical emergency and development field experience in the water and sanitation sector.

After working for a number of organisations, including VSO, MSF and the Red Cross, Tim started full-time with Oxfam GB in 2003 and has since been involved in responding to humanitarian crises, as well as being involved in a number of in-house research projects. He has also been involved with the Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) WASH Cluster, being seconded on several occasions to UNICEF to lead WASH sector coordination in major emergencies.

Currently, Tim is working on an emergency capacity building project to develop an e-learning module on technical project management for field engineers, and is an active member of Disaster Waste Recovery (DWR), a non-for profit providing waste management expertise in emergencies. He set up the inter-agency "Excreta Disposal in Emergencies - A Field Manual" project, and has also been active in writing and editing several Oxfam technical guides related to water, sanitation and hygiene. Tim has also been a member of RedR (Registered Engineers for Disaster Relief) since 1997.
