Simon Levine is a Senior Research Fellow at the Humanitarian Policy Group (HPG) at the Overseas Development Institute.
Simon specialises in livelihoods and vulnerability analysis, land rights, and in early response to humanitarian crises. He has been involved at the nexus of development support and protracted crises in Africa and South East Asia for over twenty years.
He first began research on indigenous innovation and adaptive capacity over fifteen years ago for his MSc thesis, and has continued both to research and work on programming on rural change since then, working for several NGOs and then as a consultant for ten years living in Uganda. He now leads HPG's work on resilience.
