Mark is the deputy country director for Oxfam GB's work in Uganda, with responsibility for livelihoods, governance, and gender programmes. Prior to joining Oxfam GB in 2009, he worked as the country director for GOAL in Uganda for seven years, following several similar roles for ACORD in South and North Sudan.
Mark has extensive experience in management roles, with exposure across humanitarian, development, and some influencing work, and a range of technical areas. He has worked in the international development sector for over 20 years across academic, policy, and programme roles; from Liverpool University and the Institute of Development Studies (IDS), to policy work with ACORD in London, and programming in Sudan and Uganda. He has also worked for short periods of time in West and Southern Africa, and in the Horn of Africa.
