Mulugeta joined Oxfam in 2010 as the value chain development project manager in Ethiopia. Prior to this, he worked for Save the Children as a senior project manager for the livelihood recovery of flood affected communities in the Amhara region of Ethiopia. He has also worked for the Christian Relief and Development Association (CRDA) as the north region coordinator officer. Previously, he has also worked for the government's agriculture and rural development institutions at grassroots, sub-country and country levels.
Mulugeta is one of the founders of the Amhara Regional Environment and Climate Change Forum, and a member of the emerging Ethiopian Disaster Risk Management Society. He has also published a book, Dynamic Relationship among Vegetation Cover, Drought and Temperature, with Lap Lambert Academic Publishers.
Mulugeta holds a MSc in Disaster Risk Science and Sustainable Development, and a BSc in Agricultural Extension.
