Vivien is the team leader for the MEAL team in the Global Humanitarian Team (GHT). She is the co-author of Measuring Change in emergency programmes funded by DFID and in partnership with the University of East Anglia. She has also been involved in developing a global indicator for Oxfam to systematically measure the quality of humanitarian responses as well as being involved in the design of the Real Time Evaluation methodology.
Vivien has previously worked in development programmes across the world, including Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, Thailand, Zimbabwe, and East Timor. She has worked with all the major humanitarian emergencies for the past eleven years, including the East Asia tsunami in 2004, the Pakistan floods, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the 2013 Philippines typhoon response and the recent Nepal earthquake.
Vivien holds a PhD from the University of Manchester in evaluation of behaviour change, with HIV in Zimbabwe as the area of research.
