Maya leads Oxfam GB's campaigning and policy on humanitarian crises. Maya's team works with programme and policy colleagues and partners in countries around the world to help ensure that people caught up in conflicts and disasters have their voices heard, access the services and assistance they need, stand up for their rights and rebuild their lives. This work is part of the global Oxfam International 'Rights in Crisis' campaign.
Maya joined Oxfam as a policy adviser in Juba, South Sudan in 2008, moving to headquarters in 2010. Prior to that, she worked for the International Crisis Group, a conflict prevention think tank in Nairobi, London and Brussels. She spent three years living in Kenya and South Sudan, with stints in northern Uganda and eastern DRC.
She holds a BA from the University of Cambridge and a Masters in International Relations from Sciences Po, Paris.
